Tarkov Gunsmith Part 17 Mechanic Quest Guide

After completing Escape from Tarkov's Gunsmith Part 16 and reaching level 31, Mechanic will contact you in pursuit of completing Gunsmith Part 17. Mechanic has yet bestowed us another AK variant build, requesting players to modify an AK-102 to match his criteria. The AK-102 can be purchased from Mechanic Loyalty Level 3, considering players are already above level 31, obtaining this won't be too difficult, additionally, the AK-102 spawns on scav boss Reshala on Customs if you fancy an easy pick-up! 

This Gunsmith task will be incredibly hard to complete if trying to find items in-raid to save money, there are thirteen total parts we need to equip the AK-102 with, therefore that's quite the looting task. Unlike Gunsmith Part 16, this task will be quite expensive with little reward, we're technically paying for the XP here, only receiving 35k roubles.

What Do You Need to Do for Gunsmith Part 17

Gunsmith Part 17 will require a series of weapon attachments for the AK-102 following these criteria:

• 60 Durability
• 70 or more ergonomics
• 210 or less recoil
• 800 or greater sighting range
• 8 or fewer cells
• Ferfrans CRD 5.56x45 Concussion Reduction Device
• Magpul AFG tactical foregrip (Olive Drab)
• Zenit Klesch-2U tactical flashlight
• RPK-16 buffer tube
• SLR-106/AK 5.56x45 Circle 10 30-round magazine

If you don't have Mechanic loyalty level three, you can purchase the AK-102 from the Flea market or hunt Reshala. This weapon isn't expensive nor hard to come across, most AK variants within Escape from Tarkov spawn regularly due to their popularity with scavs and spawn locations.

How To Complete Gunsmith Part 17

To complete Gunsmith Part 17, modify the AK-102 with these attachments:

These weapon attachments are easily obtainable either through the Flea market or by purchasing them straight from the merchants. As seen, the highest loyalty level required is Peacekeeper level four, Peacekeeper is the easiest merchant to obtain level four. Finding all these attachments within the raid will be hopeless, however, if you decide you want to find them, good luck!

• +21,400 EXP
• Mechanic Rep +0.03
• 35,000 Roubles
  • 36,750 Roubles with Intelligence Center Level 1
  • 40,250 Roubles with Intelligence Center Level 2
• 4× Spark plug
• 2× GreenBat lithium battery
• Unlocks purchase of Magpul AFG tactical foregrip (Olive Drab) at Mechanic LL3
• Unlocks purchase of AR-15 Hera Arms CQR pistol grip/buttstock at Mechanic LL4
• Unlocks purchase of AK CNC Warrior 5.56x45 muzzle device adapter at Mechanic LL3
• Unlocks purchase of AKM/AK-74 Hera Arms CQR47 pistol grip/buttstock at Mechanic LL4

Unfortunately, these aren't particularly flattering rewards, nevertheless, you're still closer to the Kappa container and ultimately achieved a higher rank in less than five minutes, how could you complain?
