Man dies after beating in Caldwell, two shot suspects hospitalized in Nampa

A man died after being beaten with a gun around 1:40 a.m. Tuesday and Caldwell Police detained the two people they believe did it, after they checked into a hospital with gunshot wounds.

Caldwell Police officers responded to a shooting at the 2400 block of College Avenue.

They found a male victim with life-threatening injuries at the scene. On the way to the hospital, the victim died of his injuries and was pronounced dead by the medical staff. After investigating, they found out the victim was pistol-whipped by the suspect.

The cause of death is pending amid the autopsy results.

Police said someone who knew the victim shot at the two people who pistol whipped the victim.

Shortly after, CPD was notified the Nampa Police Department responded to two gunshot victims who admitted themselves to a hospital in Nampa.

These two incidents are believed to be related, and CPD detectives have two suspects detained for their involvement. Both of the suspects are hospitalized, and the investigation is ongoing.
